David has been composing ‘classical’ pieces for both amateur and professional ensembles for over 20 years. These have included a wide range of orchestral instruments. He also composes for competent amateur recorder players.
He completed an MA in music composition at Huddersfield University, under the supervision of Bryn Harrison, some years ago and is now halfway through a PhD on the same topic at Liverpool Hope University under the supervision of Ian Percy.
Some recordings of his work, played by professional musicians, are available here. He is always interested in being commissioned to write for specific ensembles.
